Code Enforcement is responsible for enforcing City codes which address public health and safety issues, including regulations related to rubbish, garbage, junk, specific nuisances, abandoned vehicles, dangerous buildings. The Code Enforcement Officer proceeds with enforcement actions in response to citizen complaints, as well as proactively in a fair and unbiased manner.
The City’s code enforcement is primarily complaint driven, but violations that are noted by staff will be investigated. It is the City’s preference for the residents to comply voluntarily.
